READ THIS BOOK! ! ! !I'll be up front and tell the reading world that I didn't start reading H.J.R until last month. I'm not an aspiring author or anyone famous in the editing industry - so if you are looking for a review that "red pencils" and critiques this story; this isn't it, what I am an avid sci-fi fantasy reader. I was looking for something to read while I had some down time during the holidays and I noticed the "Key to Magic" series. Thinking that I had found a complete series and I could read thru to the ending I bought them all and away I went. I soon finished and then promptly suffered the remorse of "...to be continued..." when I discovered that I was going to have to wait for the next installment. Lucky for me the next book will be available in February; I know this from a rumor going around Amazon, apparently started by the author. The bottom line if you haven't read the "Key to Magic" series put it on your list. It is not only a fun read but engrossing and entertaining. The heroes have and depict true character and villains that you know deserve what's coming, and hope that they'll get it. The basis of the environment the technical structure of magic, everything was a plus in my opinion. I'm against spoilers and I can't do any justice to any tidbit I'd like to comment on so I won't say anything about the stories but simply say: read the books... you won't be sorry.

King The Key to Magic Book 3 eBook H Jonas Rhynedahll Reviews
Well written and interesting plot. Some time travel makes a mess of things and the heroine has alterior motives but it all seems to fit.
Book has too much that does not fit into the story. Seems like the author just added whatever he could to lengthen the book. If you could deal with skipping sections of the book it is otherwise well written and a decent read.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series so far. Not mind bending, but fun. Good folks, bad folks, struggle and strife pretty well written which makes for an interesting series so far. I am now invested in the characters, so am eagerly awaiting the next book. Four stars because it is not at the top, but very far from the bottom. Good enjoyment.
Terrible cliffhanger at end concerning main characters along several(!) plotlines...when do writers learn that these cheap tricks should be avoided ... There is a relationship between writer and reader, and these cheap tricks abuse that relationship terribly.
The series of books leaves you wanting more, as any good series should. The characters are complex enough to be real, rather than just pawns pushed around on a world created by their author.
The jumping of time does make the continuity of reading a challenge that takes some getting used to, but is fine.
My only regret is that he misuses the word 'enervate' throughout, or maybe 'enervated beams' is a joke? Or maybe the beams suck the energy from whatever they hit?
I look forward to the next book.
This series is interesting and enjoyable to read. Great characters with distinctive personalities. Mar, the main character as far as I can tell, definitely takes on some serious life changes.
I do, however have a question. Why do books 3, 4, & 5 picture a girl (I assume it's Telriy) on the front? The title here is "King" and shows a girl. What's up with that? (Concerning books 3 and 4, the terms King and Emperor both reference a male leader.) I'm sure you find this a nit-picky, but I figure if you can create an odd book cover, I can ask an odd question.
The last thing Mar the thief and magician-in-training wanted is to become a King. Yet after another impossible victory against a Phaelle'n assault, people become inspired to get down on one knee, draw blood and swear fealty to Mar as their king.
Mar is understandable upset with the predicament that he finds himself. Once more fate and the Gods are playing Mar like a violin, and he does not realize it until it is too late.
King (The Key to Magic An Epic Fantasy Series) is a transitional book where the main character shifts focus from a me-centric existence to grappling with the needs of his people. In this book, Mar learns how to rule and how to delegate responsibility to others.
I rate this book four stars because I don't feel like the author has a solid plan for a storyline. The original plot was for Mar to retrieve Telriy and Waleck from the Phaelle'n. The secondary plot was to find and retrieve seven books of magic. I don't think Mar is closer to freeing Waleck or finding the second book in King
King is undoubtedly an entertaining story full of highs and lows. But I feel the author has taken his eyes off the prize.
